Actor Idris Elba to Play South African President Nelson Mandela in Upcoming Biopic

British actor Idris Elba has some very big shoes to fill in his latest film role.

Elba will play former South African president Nelson Mandela in an upcoming biopic.

Elba has taken on some pretty major roles lately, including movies like “Thor” and “Takers.”

Idris Elba now joins an elite list of actors who have already played Mandela including Morgan Freeman, Sydney Poitier, De Klerk, Terrence Howard, and Dennis Haysbert.
