Usher Raymond has been a star since he was a teenager and has even brought along the next generation of singers with his protege, Justin Bieber. But in a landscape crowded with R&B wannabees and “singers” helped along with studio production wizardry, Usher, now 36, still stands out as the young king of the genre.
With legends like R. Kelly aging and youngins like Chris Brown and Trey Songz not quite yet attaining the trifecta of commercial, critical and mainstream appeal, Usher has been able to remain at the top of his game for two decades. Surely at this point in time, that’s an accomplishment worthy of respect.
After so many classic albums like Confessions, Here I Stand and Raymond vs. Raymond, Usher’s been quiet for a minute, while coaching aspiring superstars on the NBC singing competition show, The Voice k and playing the starring role in the upcoming Sugar Ray Leonard biopic.

His fans have noticed his upgraded physique on the ‘Gram, but are waiting for him to display it accompanied by the choreography and sharp dance moves that have been his signature. Not to mention bringing with it, some more memorable music.
Here’s hoping that we’ll see Usher soon reclaim his rightful place at the top of the charts and back on the stage.
