Justin Verlander, the Detroit Tigers' All-Star pitcher flirted with a no-hitter Sunday vs. Los Angeles.

Goochland native and former ODU baseball star Justin Verlander almost pulled off yet another no-hit performance today in the Detroit Tigers’  3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels.  Verlander had a no-hitter going into the 8th inning before giving up a single which then led to two LA runs.  Verlander was relieved in the 9th, but the Tigers held on to win.  It was Justin’s 15th win of the season for the first-place Tigers.
